It's been some 23 years since she returned her Mouseketeer ears to The Mickey Mouse Club, and on Wednesday the Mouse House revealed that home-girl will be the first recipient of the Icon honor at the Radio Disney Music Awards.
The award was created to recognize 'a distinguished artist whose career transcends popular culture and whose music is loved by generations of Radio Disney fans,' according to E! Online.
Phil Guerini, the VP of music strategy at Disney Channels Worldwide and general manager of the Radio Disney Network, praised Britney's influence on Disney fans.
'Having just celebrated 20 years of Radio Disney in 2016, we are excited to introduce the RDMA Icon Award as special recognition of an artist whose music has been loved and adored by generations of Radio Disney fans,' he said.
'We are proud to celebrate Britney as the first recipient for this award acknowledging her chart-topping career on Radio Disney since 1998.'
Britney, then aged 11, with fellow mouseketeers including Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera and Ryan Gosling.
Penghargaan ini sendiri nantinya akan diberikan pada ajang 2017 Radio Disney Music Awards yang akan digelar pada 29 April di Microsoft Theater di Los Angeles. Acara tersebut juga akan ditayangkan di Disney Channel pada 30 April.
